Today I Am Thankful For…

21 Aug

The infectious giggle of my youngest child.

When life seems overwhelming and I wonder if the next glass of spilt milk will be my breaking point I can always rely on that sweet little giggle to put everything in perspective. Sometimes I look over at her and see her smiling for absolutely no reason.

One time she told me the favorite part of her day was the wind blowing her hair around.

The world needs more of that. Less focus on material things and more focus on the beautiful lives that are hidden under the rubble of cheap plastic toys and electronics that are out of date by the time you get them home.

So, today I will put the iPad and smartphone and iPod and computer and HDTV away and I will be thankful for that infectious giggle and my sons incredible imagination and the squeeze of my husbands hand in mine.

And I can hope that tomorrow that giggle makes me appreciate the true importance of life all over again.
