The Gift That Keeps On Giving

5 Aug

Holy cow!

You know you are sick when you can’t even remember the last time you put shoes on or the last time you looked in a mirror. I thought I was over the family sickness that has consumed our week, but sure enough I woke up on Friday with a stuffy nose which turned into Saturday where I had a stuffy nose and a sore throat which turned into today where I have a stuffy nose, sore throat and a lovely cough to complete the set.

I am happy to report that as of now, 4:30 pm I can breathe through one side of my nose and don’t get dizzy whenever I stand up. I even put shoes on today so we could drive around and look at neighborhoods. My husband was awesome about me being sick. He took care of me and all three kids and hardly complained and I’m not exactly a fun person when I’m sick.

Thanks to the sickness we spent our 3 year wedding anniversary cuddled up watching the Olympics and eating soup. Oddly I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I really just wanted to spend time with him. I didn’t so much care about what we did.

I am really hoping that next week there is more to report from this house aside from sickness. We have a lot of fun things going on in August. We are going to see The Book of Mormon, a musical with awesome reviews. Jordan, Tom and I all go back to school, we have a consignment sale, we have another meeting with our mentor and the younger kids start dance classes!

It should be a fun and productive month assuming sickness leaves us alone the rest of the month. I hear some hot tea and a cozy blanket calling my name.

Later days blog world!
