I Have Pretty Awesome Grandparents

18 Jul

My grandparents got into town for my moms wedding yesterday and we were thrilled to get to see them today. I have awesome grandparents because:

They brought me this amazing hummingbird feeder all the way from Texas and my grandpa hung it in the tree in the front yard for me

They played Pirate in our front yard with the kids for quite a long time. It was really hot out and they happily played along.

They acted fascinated with the rock collection that Nikkos and Ariahna have by our front door

They make all three of the kids feel completely loved and completely special

We had a great visit although Tom had to take Jordan to dance pretty soon after they got to our house which stinks. My grandma even watched the kids so my grandpa and I could go grocery shopping which was great! We are headed to the zoo with them tomorrow. The kids are all VERY excited about it. Hopefully Nikkos is a tad more calm tomorrow. It is always very embarrassing when he is hyper and all over the place. I need to get over my parenting perfection anxiety (a term I just made up on the spot right now). I know no parent is perfect and everyone parents differently, but sheesh, some table manners would be lovely.

Anyway, I am really looking forward to the next few days with family in town. Hopefully my anxiety doesn’t get the best of me and completely exhaust me. For now, here are a few more pictures from our afternoon:

We loved seeing all y’all again. Really and honestly, the kids are very good for 4 and 2 1/2 and they are happy and loved and it shows! I look forward to hearing Nikkos’ descriptions of the animals at the zoo tomorrow. xoox
